100 female personnel of the defense and security forces - APR

From 04 to 11 March 2020, the EMP-ABB conducted a training and awareness session on the Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation in Mali resulting from the Algiers process and on the reform of the security sector (APR ) and in capacity building in RSS and DDR. This session funded by MINUSMA and organized in partnership with the Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs brought together 100 female personnel from the defense and security forces for a total of 143 participants.

The main points covered by this training session were, among other things, the key concepts and concepts of Security Sector Reform; Disarmament Demobilization Reintegration and Integration; the key concepts and concepts of the Agreement; MINUSMA's mandate and UN Security Council resolution 1325 of 2000. In addition to the lessons and exercises, the training also included role-play learning activities to better highlight one of the many contributions of qualified female personnel in post-conflict reconstruction and the importance of women's participation in peace support operations. Testimonies on gender-based violence in the workplace were also collected, which helped create and maintain a pleasant and supportive learning atmosphere.
