Signature of FRANCE - UNDP - EMP-ABB Conventions

On Wednesday 10 June, His Excellency Joël Meyer, Ambassador of France to Mali, and the Acting Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Mr. Alfredo Teixeira, signed an agreement for the implementation of the Support Project for the Alioune Blondin Beye Peacekeeping School in Bamako. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the director general of the EMP-ABB, Brigadier General Mody Béréthé.

On Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 10 a.m., a local review committee met online, to study and discuss the Support Project funded by France and implemented by the UNDP for the benefit of the School. of Peacekeeping Alioune Blondin Beye of Bamako. With a total budget of 900 € (000 million FCFA), this project aims to strengthen the capacities of French-speaking African executives for increased and effective participation in peacekeeping and security activities in the region. UN, through the development of teaching and reception capacities of the EMP by the end of 590.
The project provides, among other things, for the organization of technical and professional training for almost 600 elements of the African defense and security forces in the fields of Peacekeeping Operations (PKO); developing new courses on leadership, terrorism and violent extremism, and expanding and strengthening the network of school focal points; carrying out renovation and construction works on infrastructure (5 training rooms and 92 rooms) and improving the school's computer (45 computers) and teaching (30 GPS) systems.
Alfredo Teixeira stressed that “the project responds to the priorities of the EMP, which today has recognized legitimacy in training in the areas of peacekeeping. With nearly 28 African civil, police and military executives already trained, the School is today an internationally recognized reference. This is why I would like to reaffirm here the commitment of the UNDP and its partners to continue their support for the School. In this sense, I would like to thank France once again for its confidence in the UNDP and the quality of our partnership ”.
HE Mr. Joël Meyer, Ambassador of France to Mali recalled that “The EMP is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful international schools with a regional vocation in terms of infrastructure and training. With this funding, France is proud to participate both in the brilliance of the school and in the good conditions of training of its trainees, whose level is no longer to be demonstrated. "

Thursday June 18, 2020 at 14 p.m., the Alioune Blondin Beye Peace School in Bamako (EMP-ABB) signed with the UNDP, the Support Project implementation agreement, in the presence of the Director of the Center of Strategic Studies, General Touré, representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
