The second debate of the Center for Analysis and Research in the Sahelo-Saharan Space (Caress) of the Alioune Blondin Bèye Peacekeeping School (EMP-ABB) has been held since yesterday on the theme: "the redeployment of the administration on the national territory: what role for the armed and security forces ”.
The opening of this panel was chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs, General Sidiki Samaké, in the presence of the Director General of the EMP, Colonel Souleymane Sangaré, the representative of the Embassy. from Germany to Mali, Kirsten Staudt.
This debate, which will last three days, seeks to identify and propose possible solutions aimed at facilitating the redeployment of the administration on the national territory. It brings together around thirty panelists and participants from academia, civil society, the public and private sectors as well as international organizations.
This meeting comes at a time when our authorities and the "friends" of Mali have shown their concerns about the return of basic social services throughout the national territory.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs found the theme of the meeting relevant, which will allow, according to him, to deepen the reflections on the roles that our soldiers can play in the redeployment of the administration on the national territory. .
"It will also improve the operational capacity of our forces through the recommendations that will be made and that we will integrate as much as possible into our various strategies for resolving the current crisis," said Sidiki Samaké.
For his part, the director general of the EMP hoped that at the end of this panel, strong recommendations will be identified, recorded in a document and shared with all the national and international actors involved in the process of redeployment of the network. administration in our territory.
Welcoming the quality of the participants, Kirsten Staudt underlined that by joining the various approaches, one succeeds in laying and building lasting solutions. She said that in the current situation, the role of the armed and security forces is eminent.
