Initially, the Alioune Blondin Bèye Peacekeeping School (EMP-ABB) planned to organize a Multi-Stakeholder Forum as part of International Women's Day 2026, focusing on the theme: "Promoting the Rights of Women and Girls: Synergies, Challenges, and Shared Commitments for High-Impact Action." This meeting was intended to bring together representatives from public institutions, civil society organizations, technical and financial partners, and stakeholders committed to promoting the rights of women and girls, in order to foster open dialogue on progress made, remaining challenges, and actions that need strengthening.
Due to circumstances beyond its control, this meeting could not ultimately be held in its original format. Keen to maintain the momentum and highlight the contributions of the various stakeholders involved, EMP-ABB has chosen to transform this initiative into a brochure for reflection, sharing experiences, and documenting commitments.
This publication brings together the analyses, expertise, and perspectives of several national institutions, civil society organizations, and international partners working in the fields of peace, justice, human rights, inclusive governance, and gender equality. It highlights existing mechanisms for guaranteeing the rights of women and girls, the challenges that still limit their full effectiveness, and the concrete commitments made by various actors to strengthen the coordination and impact of interventions.
Through this brochure, EMP-ABB reaffirms its commitment to promoting dialogue, strategic thinking, and collaborative action around the advancement of women's and girls' rights. More than just a collection of contributions, this publication aims to be a tool for raising awareness, advocacy, and collective mobilization in service of a more just, inclusive, and resilient society.
