MILOBS 1 internship

From 06 February to 03 March, the first MILOBS training course, military observers, took place for the year 2017.
Incident with an injured person

This internship was funded by the Federal Republic of Germany. It brought together 25 trainees from 13 different African countries including Madagascar.

It ended with a field exercise, an opportunity for the school to hold an open house in order to present our activities to potential donors or partners. The exercise aimed to put future military observers in a situation with concrete cases of incidents that may arise during a peacekeeping mission: interview with journalists, account of abuses in a village, presentation of the tactical situation at an authority, reaction to a checkpoint, reaction to a hostage-taking, negotiation and mediation with the belligerents.

The closing ceremony of the course was chaired by the Director General of the school in the presence of Brigadier General FAUST, commander of the 1st Airborne Brigade of the Bundeswehr. This brigade brings together all the German parachute forces. General FAUST knows Africa well since he was CMO in Liberia.
