MEETING OF CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE

It was the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center (KAIPTC, Accra) which last week hosted the traditional meeting of the commanders of the ECOWAS Centers of Excellence. On this occasion, the EMP was represented by its Director General and a delegation of officers.

In addition to the two centers of excellence already named, the National Defense College (NDC) of Abuja (Nigeria) constitutes the third pillar of peace training in the West African space.

The meeting of the Commanders of the Centers of Excellence is a real forum between peace training providers and the main beneficiary - ECOWAS - for the sake of harmonizing efforts for the benefit of regional peace building.

It is obvious that the Malian general, the Ghanaian and the Nigerian have mainly discussed the setting up of the “ECOWAS Standby Force” (FAC) and its future training, of which the EMP remains one of the “suppliers. of expertise ”, year after year.
