COE internship 1-17

From April 24 to 27, EMPABB jointly organized with OMP SOLUTION a COE (Contingent Owned Equipment or Peacekeeping Contingents Equipment) course

The purpose of the internship is to give soldiers, police and civilians in the field of materiel management, the knowledge allowing them to better understand the conditions and the process of reimbursement of materiel belonging to their country and to equip them better with negotiation methods a memorandum of understanding (MOU).

The main part of the training revolves around the following points:

- Mission environment: general United Nations organization; introduction to PSOs; the permanent mission and the responsibilities of the military adviser, Logistical organization of the HQ of the mission, logistical challenges for African States, Verification procedure, Mission factor.
- Organization of support: autonomous support, major equipment, personnel; medical support, Letter of Assignment, and Memorandum of Understanding, change from one organization to another, DAM movement control section, loss and damage.
- Scenario: the MIRABILIA, and Bambari
- Exercises and case study: "Exercise in progress the Mission", Major equipment, Military police, Preparation of the negotiation of the MOU in room.

This internship was the opportunity for a fruitful partnership and sharing of know-how, both for EMP and OMP Solution.
