Stage Poste de Commandement (PC) Bataillon en Ouganda / Battalion Command Post (CP) course in Uganda

Un stage de 3 semaines a débuté le 25 janvier 2010 au camp militaire de Singo, à 80km de la capitale KAMPALA, au profit de 20 officiers ougandais en vue de leur déploiement au sein de l’Union Africaine en Somalie dans les mois à venir. Le stage s’adresse à des officiers d’état-major confirmés afin de leur donner le complément de connaissances et de savoir-faire indispensables à leur emploi dans un état-major de bataillon déployé dans le cadre d’une opération de soutien à la paix en Afrique.

Cette formation spécifique est conduite par cinq officiers de l’École de Maintien de la Paix (EMP) :

• le Commandant Oumarou MAIGA (Mali),

• le Capitaine de frégate Mamadou KANE (Sénégal),

• le Lieutenant-colonel Daniel EYONG-ETAROCK (Cameroun),

• le Lieutenant-colonel David KABRÉ (Burkina Faso).

L’EMP dispose d’instructeurs projetables et de modules de formation adaptés pour réaliser la mise en condition opérationnelle de détachements avant leur départ en opération.

ENGLISH VERSION :

A three-week course started on January 25th, 2010 at the military camp of Singo, located about 80km from the capital KAMPALA, for the benefit of 20 Ugandan officers who will be deployed into the African Union mission in Somalia in the next months. The course is dedicated to qualified Staff Officers in order to provide them the mandatory additional knowledge and skills to allow their deployment within a battalion headquarters in a Peace Support Operation in Africa. This specific training is performed by five officers coming from the École de Maintien de la Paix of Bamako :

• Major François (Frank) PROVOST (Canada),

• Commandant Oumarou MAIGA (Mali),

• Commander Mamadou KANE (Senegal),

• Lieutenant-Colonel Daniel EYONG-ETAROCK (Cameroun),

• Lieutenant-Colonel David KABRÉ (Burkina Faso).

The EMP offers deployable trainers and specific modules adapted for readiness training of detachments before their operational deployment.
